Decompression Therapy FAQ

How long will it take to get better?

During your first few sessions, most patients begin to feel the relief from the chronic pain as pressure on your compressed nerve. Many patients feel relaxed and may even take a nap during the treatment.  You may feel initial soreness in your back as muscles are stretched that normally are not; we may recommend therapy like laser or ultrasound if you experience any significant soreness post treatment.  After the first couple of treatments, we gradually increase the forces to the level that is tolerable for the patient and very little soreness, or discomfort is experienced.  The first treatment or two we will do our best to gauge your tolerance to forces but will adjust to stay below your discomfort or pain threshold.  Many patients feel significant improvement in 6-12 treatments.  Patients who are avoiding injection therapy or desire to avoid surgery may be candidates for regular maintenance sessions once or twice a month and find that it affordably and conveniently keeps their pain away.

How successful is Decompression?

In published clinical studies nearly 9 out of 10 patients benefit from the DRX9000 machine treatment; in one particular published study conducted by medical doctors associated with the University of California, Stanford, Johns Hopkins and Georgetown the DRX9000 spinal decompression helped in reducing back pain with a correlated in increasing disc height.  For more research information click here.

Decompression Therapy

Aspire Health has a DRX9000® system that works on the injuries that happen due to nerve compression by applying equal amount of pressure on the vertebrate columns, by stretching the spine, this creates a gap in between the discs, and with improved flow of nutrients.  This allowsthe injuries heal slowly and steadily after regular DRX9000® decompression treatment sessions, as suggested by your doctor. Many patients are living better and happier lives due to this therapy and avoid more costly injection therapy.  DRX9000® treatment dynamics allows you to target a specific lumbar region, for example the L5/S1 disc or L3/4 disc.  Back pain in patients can be caused by herniated discs, bulging discs or degenerative disc diseases in different parts of the spine. With this feature you will be able to target the specific disc level region that is causing the pain or other conditions.

The DRX9000® has been cleared by the FDA to treat patients suffering with incapacitating lower back pain and sciatica caused by herniated discs, degenerative discs, and posterior facet syndrome.
